La Porte Aviation Services, Inc. is a relatively new company that was formed by a few local aviation professionals in an effort to provide services that we felt were lacking to the people of NW Indiana, the Chicagoland area, and particularly to the contingency at the La Porte Municipal Airport.

We hope this site will help show our passion for aviation, and help our clients pursue and achieve their personal flying dreams.

Safety- Doing it right!!!

We have also been frustrated in the past renting 30 year old aircraft with 'INOP' stickers peppering the instrument panel. Not all of our training aircraft are brand new, but they are treated as such. A large portion of our operating budget goes towards maintenance and keeping the aircraft aesthetically pleasing. Our company policy doesn't allow for inoperative equipment in our aircraft. It's no wonder why the Inspector's at the South Bend FSDO (FAA) rent our aircraft for their company flying. It's all about confidence 'in the equipment' and the people 'behind the effort' to keep that equipment to standards that exceed the minimum requirements.

Making it fun again!!!

Learning to fly is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. The challenges it brings; the freedom; and of course the utility of transporting yourself and others to places in minutes versus hours by car.

Check this are of the home page for postings and links to fun getaways that really cater to aviators. Maybe a great view of the Chicago skyline, a trip to Put-In-Bay for day of island fun, or just a flight to pursue that 'hundred dollar hamburger'.

Can I afford it?

YES!!  With the price of fuel rising every day and the cost of living increasing, our expenses have gone up as well. However with the new light sport category of aircraft, and the sport pilot certificate, an individual can get their pilots license (sport pilot), for the same cost as I did for my Private Pilot license in the mid-80's.
