La Porte Aviation Services was founded by James (Jim) and Pamela Fleming.
Jim and Pamela were both very active in the aviation community in La Porte, Indiana.
Jim was an active member of the La Porte Municipal Airport Board of Directors for 35 years and was a Commercial Instrument Flight Instructor. He was a founding member of the La Porte Aero Club Inc. Pamela was a flight instructor and manager at the La Porte Municipal Airport.
Jim constructed the first corporate hangar at La Porte Municipal Airport in 1991, which is now occupied by La Porte Aviation Services.
Jim passed away in 2010. In 2013, the La Porte Municipal Airport Authority voted to honor Jim's contributions to aviation by renaming the corporate hangar “Fleming Park”.
Today, Pamela and her son Bob Stowell are co-owners of La Porte Aviation Services where they continue to celebrate Jim's legacy.
